Thomas Paine’s work the “Common Sense” was very intimidating at first. Being that it used many words that only a person of the time period could correctly decipher I think you could understand the confusion that occurred when reading the document. Thankfully my teacher provided multiple sources that would assist me in building an understanding for the patriotic piece.
