This was an amazing book from the same author of Wonder struck. It was about an orphan named Hugo Cabret and he has this machine his father worked on called an Automaton, he spent hours fixing it and he needed a key that would fit in the key hole so the machine will function. When a girl Hugo knows has the key they both experience the process of the automaton revealing the picture it was designed to create. Soon the owner of the automaton finds it and Hugo and the owner grow a bond and Hugo gets adopted by him.
