I read a book called the dead boys, I read it a few years ago for battle of the books, but I wanted to read it again but I didn’t need to rush. Its about this boy named teddy and his mom who moved to the desert town of Richland, Washington. By his new house there stands a giant sycamore tree. The tree feeds on nuclear waste, it feeds on the life energy of boys that it snags with its living roots. Once teddy moved there he became the trees victim. He made all these new friends, but when he was around them something bad would happen, and then he would look back at his friend they wouldn’t be there, they just disappeared. One day Teddy goes to the cemetery, and sees all his friends names on tombstones, turns out they were just ghosts trying to lure him into that evil tree. Teddy had no escape, the tree always knew where he was. I will say no more, you should just read it for yourself :).
