In the book, a young girl named Cleo Berry lives with her brother Jack and his wife Lucy. When they are out on their anniversary, the city gets corrupted by the Spanish influenza. She joins the red cross and along the way, meets with Kate, a girl her age who is also helping out. And Edmund, a former soldier who has a few things to hide. This book is amazing and so sad, I would recommend it to anyone who has spare time.
