Fever 1793, was published in 2000 by Laurie Halse Anderson. It is about a young girl named Matilda Cook, and she experiences the yellow fever epidemic.
She goes through the trials of sickness, and grief. She first witnesses the death of her workers, Polly and then it turns into thousands of deaths in Philadelphia.

Mattie goes through adventures and difficulties to find her mother. The ending is somewhat satisfying, but I expected more.
